Henry H Halley
Dr. Henry H. Halley, author, minister, and Bible lecturer, was born in the Blue Grass section of Kentucky. He was ordained to the ministry in 1898. Then followed ten years of pastoral service in Michigan, during which he developed a fondness for memorizing favorite passages of the Bible. This habit grew until he could recite from memory entire books from the Bible, in abridged, connected form and in their own words. For many years his lifework was giving of these Bible recitals, each one preceded by an introductory statement about the historical setting of the book. These bible recitals were the crystallized result of many long years of the most painstaking study of the Bible. This unusual ministry found him filling engagements in thirty0-five states from coast to coast until his death.
