Graham Dacre

Graham M. Dacre, CBE made two small fortunes. He established and built the Lind motor business into one of the UK's larger and most respected car dealership groups - selling it for 100m+ days before the market collapsed. Alongside this, he has developed and retains a substantial commercially let property portfolio. Over the years, he has donated the greater part his income to charity. He helped fund the Lind Trust which, in 2003, acquired the magnificent former regional headquarters of Barclays Bank in the City of Norwich. Subsequently, the trustees invested over 10m, turning the property into what has been described as the finest youth provision in Europe. The Open Youth Trust received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2010. Alongside the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt. Revd. Graham James, he sponsored the initially controversial Open Academy - the first such school in Norfolk. Today, he oversees those who manage his many commercial interests, spending most of his time on more philanthropic endeavors - as well as polishing a collection of classic cars that, in times past, he could only ever dream about. He was made a CBE in the 2013 Queen's Birthday Honors List.
